The eighth largest island in Italy

The island of Ischia is the largest in the Gulf of Naples and the eighth in Italy; it extends over an area of 46.33 sq km and has a population of about 60,000 inhabitants.
Ischia is only one of the six municipalities in which it is divided, together with Forio, Casamicciola Terme, Lacco ameno, Serrara Fontana and Barano.
The island is of volcanic origin and still today reveals its craters through a peculiar mainly hilly landscape.
The geographical structure of Ischia is characterized by numerous natural inlets, making it certainly suitable for hosting the numerous boaters who spend their holidays in Ischia during the summer season.

The thermal baths of Ischia

With its three ports (Ischia Porto, Forio and Casamicciola Terme) the island is easily reachable from the mainland thanks to the numerous ferries and hydrofoils which are frequent in the summer period, both from the Beverello pier and from Mergellina (ideal for those arriving by train or plane).
The thermal water of Ischia is very famous all over the world, it is no coincidence that today most of the hotels on Ischia offer their customers their own spas where they can carry out many natural treatments including mud baths, saunas, massages and aerosols. Thanks to its volcanic origin, Ischia has many natural thermal springs in all its municipalities.

World Famous Structures

In Forio d'Ischia there are Structures famous all over the world such as the Gardens of Poseidon which are located in Citara (Forio d'Ischia), The Bay of Sorgeto which is located in Panza (Forio d'Ischia). In this area of Ischia, thermalism and volcanic activity occurs directly in the sea, creating hot tubs where it is possible to swim.
Casamicciola Terme (Ischia's first tourism center due to its wealth of mineral and thermal springs) is instead famous for its Gurgitiello spring where the waters are used for the treatment of various pathologies.
At Lacco Ameno Ischia in the sea there is a tuff rock with the characteristic shape of a mushroom that gives it its name, but the Negombo thermal parks are equally popular in the area.

Castiglione Thermal Park

Finally, in Ischia there is the Castiglione Thermal Park and in Sant'Angelo d'Ischia the Aphrodite Thermal Park and the beautiful Fumarole beach while in Buonopane (Ischia) there are the Nitroid Springs. Thermal waters excellent for skin care.
All these thermal parks have the privilege of attracting tourists for their different characteristics, however all united by an indescribable beauty.
